So all around the world people are celebrating St Patrick’s Day. Add a bit of the Irish charm and luck to your wedding with some gorgeous shades of green. But rather than opting for an emerald hue, try a brighter green like lime mixed with pink or white – perfect for a Springtime wedding.

So the bride has her dress, the suits for the groom and his men have been ordered, so now its time to find dresses for me and the other bridesmaid. We’re still not sure what we’ll be wearing but the options are endless – maxi or short, formal or relaxed, modern or vintage? If you’re shopping for bridesmaid dresses, the high street has some great options including Monsoon and Coast or why not visit the wedding boutique at Net-a-Porter or check out online favourite Dessy for every colour of bridesmaid dress you can imagine.

There’s exciting news on the horizon for brides everywhere with the announcement that former Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano will be designing a bridal collection for American department store, Nordstrom. The department store already has a gorgeous collection of bridal collections and from this March will be adding an exclusive collection from Christian Siriano.

Already known for dressing celebrities like Heidi Klum, Christina Hendricks and he recently created a breathtaking dress for Taylor Swift’s new fragrance advert, his romantic designs are the perfect choice for an ultra girly bride. And the best news is that Nordstom ships to the UK as well!

It seems like Christmas is the time of year to propose with quite a number of my friends getting engaged. Also this year is a leap year and so the tradition goes, the 29th February is the day for women to propose to their boyfriends. This seems like a rather strange tradition but I wonder how many women actually take this opportunity. Would you ever propose to your boyfriend? In light of this I couldn’t help but share these gorgeous little sparklers!

happy new year…

Happy New Year to everyone! I know it has been a while since I have posted but in the time I have been away so much has been happening with the planning of my friend’s wedding. It’s now only five months until the big day and we’ve booked the hen weekend and had the first dress fitting, got the shoes and I received my invitation – which is gorgeous.

I thought this unusual bouquet was a nice departure from the norm and particularly fitting as I’ve recently returned from a holiday back home in South Africa. This flower is a Protea, the national flower of South Africa and it actually makes a rather nice and unique bouquet, especially when softened with the greenery.

phoebe and the letterpress…

So I thought I’d introduce you to a friend of mine’s lovely stationery company that she runs. Phoebe and the Letterpress creates bespoke stationery for parties, holidays, thank you cards and of course wedding stationery. It all started when she decided to make her own stationery for her wedding. Phoebe and the Letterpress uses traditional letterpress printing, which involves stamping an inked plate with raised letters, to create unique, hand printed gorgeous stationery.

I really love this idea of using traditional techniques for your wedding stationery as the stamps used are designed by Phoebe and the Letterpress so will be entirely personal to your wedding. Using letterpress also gives a wonderful tactile quality to the stationery and  all stationery is printed on 100% acid free cotton paper  – simply beautiful.
