As you have probably seen from previous posts, I am rather fond of birdcage veils. I think they are a really beautiful alternative to a traditional veil but when adding up costs for your outfit the veil can turn out to be quite an expensive addition.

If you fancy testing out your sewing skills (or perhaps your mom’s) then Project Wedding shows you how to make your own birdcage veil. http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/how-to-make-a-birdcage-veil

These paper lanterns are gorgeous way to do lighting for an outdoor wedding. The mix of sizes and the pink colour give off such a lovely glow and if you arrange for your dancefloor or tables to be set under the trees then a collection of these strung up through them will make for a romantic setting adding to the ambience of the evening.

Yesterday I attended a little food fair in Barnes where delicious cheeses, meats and cakes were on display. Some of the cakes and pies were mouth wateringly good and with winter on its way (not that you’d know it with these warm temperatures) serve up a treat and opt for a dessert bar of blueberry, apple, pecan or even pumpkin pie which is the perfect accompaniment to a rustic autumn wedding.

For something a bit unusual atop of your cake why not go for this beautiful arrangement that I found on my favourite site, bhldn. This crystal cloche cake topper is something really special and elegant. A combination of glass pearls, vines and silver bells with a Swarovski encrusted bow, this will make the perfect keepsake long after your wedding.
